RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

I just got done watching (and a little helping) the concrete guys. They poured and stamped 9 yards. The rest will be done tomorrow. I'm not sure we will make it up tomorrow night or Saturday morning.

We finally have a dump truck and skid steer sitting in my driveway. And the removal carnage starts in the morning. YES!
Concrete guy says he hopes to have everything done sometime Friday (weather dependant) We can't wait. We're having it dyed and stamped. Should look cool.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

Happy Birthday, Marty!
OK, I just called Indian Trails, and seeing as our site is open on the 8th (Wednesday), and the kids are off school early for parent/teacher conferences, we're coming down on Wednesday! Might as well take advantage of that free night! :B
Julie
Great. My boss just bought a 5er, the first he camper has ever had, and he needs some stuff to outfit it. I wanted him to come to the Rally, but his wife and him are leaving Oct 11th for out west. I'll get him a link to our favorite RV supply store and he can go nuts.
Boy, he sure jumps in the deap end. Here is a link to his floorplan Montana 3585SA
Which reminds me, I better get an order together and send you a PM before I forget.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

ok ok I am just curious but why would you name the dog "Chinese horseradish"
Andy is a gourmet cook. Maybe it's his favorite seasoning? Randy fill us in.
I don't know if I would call him a gourmet just yet, but the boy can cook, that's for sure.
Doughboy, Ya gotta get to know my son Andy a bit. Then you will probably get a more complete answer to that question. But when he picked up the puppy, he said any pet he has, must be named after food.
Again, you hafta ask him to explain that one. But one of his cats is named Pickles, and the other is named Peanut.
Andy is a culinary school graduate, and food has been his passion since grade school. At least Wasabi sounds better than some other food stuffs that he could have been named after.

I'm bad. Andy first saw Wasabi when the pup was 8 weeks old. I was just informed by the keeper of correct information (Cheryl), that in the pic, Wasabi is 12 or 13 weeks old. Definitely gonna be a big boy. But if you're bred for sled pulling, I suppose it's an advantage to be on the big side.
Wasabi is over to the house quite a bit because Andy is working a lot, and Ashley (Andy's sweetie) can't have dogs at her apartment. So we are helping socialize/train him.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

Must be something in the air. Andy got a puppy a couple of weeks ago. He fell in love with an 8 week old Sammy at the campground. The breeder has a seasonal site just up the road from us. His name is Wasabi. He's taller than Squirt already. I'll have to take a pic and post it. But all you can see is white fur, black nose and eyes. Gonna be hard to find him in the snow.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

Just thought I'd say hello... got back from a week of vacation up north and heading back to work tomorrow. Can't believe how fast a week can go or that tomorrow is August 18th already. Where did the summer go?
Sherry
I know what you mean Sherry. Troy started school today, and Cheryl started her new job.
I can't believe my YOUNGEST is a high school senior. I may start feeling old soon if I'm not careful.

You'll see me with a different TV before we change campers. My 1/2 ton van just wouldn't handle anything more than what I have now.
Hmmmm.... :B
Very subtle Car Guy :R
Just kidding ya now.
I'm not ready yet, that's why I haven’t called on the Car Guy connection yet. Cheryl and I just signed the contract for our driveway. So that will put a dent in the piggy bank for now.
Probably will be looking for a pick-em-up-truck next summer. Something in the 3/4 ton HD line that drinks less refined fuel.

Ok Randy, it's Monday now,, so what was this suprise you spoke of :@ Or was the suprise that you were just there again :S
I guess I worded it wrong. I meant something like, where else would I be going camping. What a surprise that we would be at Indian Trails camping.

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

The Ho Jo used to be a Holiday Inn, and before that it was a Ramada Inn. Who knows what it will be tomorrow.
My take on it, is that the NWS never put out any kind of warning at all, so of COURSE it never really happened. Everyone in my neighborhood is just imagining everything. And we can't POSSIBLY know what a tornado looks like if we are not trained meteorologists. JMO

RE: Wisconsin Fall Rally - October 10th - 12th.

Spent some time with a chainsaw last night cutting up my neighbors tree. It had to be dropped the rest of the way after half of it went down last Thursday when a tornado went over our house. You may have seen some of the damage on TV.
I'll have at least a couple of of cords of wood by the time it dries and I get it split. This tree was almost 3' in diameter. Sure am glad me neighbor hired a tree service to cut the large stuff into pieces. The saw I'm using not be able to cut the large stuff up. Any body know how honey locust burns?
According to the NWS website, there wasn't a tornado in your area Thursday. If you're sure that's what it was (and not just the derecho winds) nobody reported it to anyone. With a tree that large coming down (and the rest of the damage Joe's gotten calls about) I would think it would be a tornado that maybe nobody reported to the NWS.
You are right. The NWS said it was straight line winds and no warnings were issued.
However, straight line winds don't twist trees and limbs off. And when you have several people from a few blocks away that actually saw a funnel, I believe the evidence, not the NWS. After all, weather men can't be wrong. Can they?
A few people at a business on East Washington Ave saw the tornado come over them from behind and touchdown briefly by the Howard Johnsons across the street from them. The Ho Jo had a lot of damage to vehicles in the lot, roof damage, windows blown out, trees in the court yard downed and misc building damage.
The guys at Zimbrick used said they saw the funnel dropping above MATC and they headed for the building interior. A lot of vehicles damaged on their lot, some severely.
We have been able to follow the damage from MATC to an area behind Wal-Mart.
At least nobody was hurt.

Now the "sqeeters" and ticks are a different story
So what's the preferred way to remove ticks these days? Since I don't smoke anymore the lit cig or hot match trick isn't very opertunistic :@
Experts say a tweezer does just fine....a steady tug and out they come. Cigs, vaseline and other ways do not work. Old wives tales.
I just marry a CVT (certified veterinary technician) and keep her around for, say 30 plus years. Cheryl can remove those little buggers like nobody's business.
